Description

High intertidal species of brown alga, olive-brown in color with flat branches. Can grow to lengths of almost 0.6 meters (2 ft).

Fun Facts

Like moist towels, algae like rock weed provide important wet canopies and coverage that allow animals to remain safe from drying out when the tide gets low.
