Description
The bright red-orange “flowers” on this plant are actually leaf tips (bracts) with fleshy, fuzzy green leaves below. It grows well along the coast and in sand dunes.
Fun Facts
This rare species only exists along a small section of coastline from Monterey County north to San Francisco County, but other species of Indian paintbrush exist throughout western America.
