Description

Small Flycatcher with yellowy-green head and chest. The darker wings have two noticeable lighter bands. It has a peaked crown and a distinct bi-colored beak, black above and orange below.    

Behaviors

They like pine/oak forests and forage on beetles, bugs, bees, wasps, moths, leafhoppers, flies and spiders. Dessert includes blackberries!

Fun Facts

Their scientific name, Empidonax difficilis, translates to "difficult gnat master," referencing how hard they are to identify from other flycatchers.
