Description
Wood mint can be found in shady woodlands and near chaparral (thorny bushes and tangled shrubs) throughout California. Tall stalk with long (up to 17 cm / 7 in) fuzzy, heart-shaped leaves. The purplish flowers of this herb grow in separate groups up the stalk.
Fun Facts
A member of the mint family, wood mint leaves have a pleasant, lemony/minty scent. All mints have square stems.
