The Douglas iris is one of those 'stop-you-in-your-tracks' kind of wildflowers! This purple dazzler is starting to bloom in patches throughout the Reserve, out in the open areas as well as in shady woods. This particular footage shows us a "bee party", as two different species are spotted here! If there was a royal court of California wildflowers, the Douglas Iris would most definitely have a place there!
