Description
Medium-sized (up to 1.2 m/3.8 feet in length) predatory mammal with brown striped and spotted fur and tufted ears. Its name comes from its thick, short, “bobbed” tail.
Behaviors
A solitary (lone) feline that stalks (quietly follows) its prey—mainly small mammals, ground birds, and occasionally small deer. Bobcats can be both crepuscular (active at dawn and dusk) and nocturnal (active at night).
